Food and drink at one of our pop-ups

NABOLAGSHUS · ETTERSTADGATA 6 · OSLO

A place to
grow together.

THE LONG-TERM VISION

Part of everyday neighbourhood life.

We imagine a bakery, café and food programme that grows alongside Nabolagshus — a welcoming place to stop by, stay a while, and meet people.

Fresh bread and pastries, carefully made coffee, simple seasonal food and house-made drinks. A shared table, small workshops, community meals and room for collaborations with the people and activities already shaping the house.

This is a vision for the future, not a claim about what the building can accommodate today. The exact format would be developed together, as the space and its possibilities become clearer.

Morning

Fresh bread, pastries, breakfast and coffee — something for neighbours to pick up or enjoy together.

Daytime

Simple lunches, seasonal food, coffee and a relaxed meeting point for people using the house.

Later on

Community dinners, workshops, shared tables and occasional food-led events that complement the house's programme.

IN THE MEANTIME

We don't have to wait for the building to be finished.

While Etterstadgata 6 is taking shape, smaller temporary formats could bring people together, test ideas and build familiarity with the place. Each would depend on access, facilities, permissions and agreement with the Nabolagshus team.

ALREADY HAPPENING

Not starting from scratch.

Our ideas grow out of work we already do in Oslo: baking, making coffee and drinks, working in neighbourhood hospitality, hosting tastings and putting together food-led pop-ups and events.

NABOLAGSHUS · ETTERSTADGATA 6

A place still taking shape.

That's precisely why we're interested. Rather than arriving with a finished business plan for an existing restaurant, we'd like to explore how food and hospitality could become part of the house as it develops.

We see the possibility of contributing to everyday activity in the future — and to smaller gatherings, outdoor events and temporary formats much sooner.

We want to listen, understand the plans for the building and work with the people involved to find a useful role for our project.

ETTERSTADGATA

A neighbourhood house in the making.

THE PROPOSAL

Let's find a way to start.

We'd love to explore both a longer-term home for bakery, coffee and food — and a smaller first collaboration while the house is being developed.

01 / NOW

Explore temporary use

Discuss possible outdoor service, pop-ups and events, including what space and facilities might be available.

02 / TOGETHER

Test a first event

Choose a manageable format that fits the house's programme and the needs of the neighbourhood.

03 / LATER

Shape the long-term idea

Keep talking about how a bakery and café might fit into the finished house as plans develop.

Start small. Build something that belongs.
